As the days get shorter and hibernation instincts draw my focus inwards, I’m feeling a little classic, close-up, Dutch masters inspiration stirring.

As outdoor dining becomes indoor candlelit feasting, I dedicate this week to the transition.

As the ever open door of summer slowly closes, as the pear and silk gather their wooly warm companions ’round the table for midnight feasts and tales of ships in the night, the great watchful lighthouse swings it’s light across these ancient walls.

Here’s to fading light and preparations for cosy warm moments, mostly involving food, of the deeply nourishing kind. And fabric. Here’s always to the fabric.
